Reconstructing a baseline from a ticket export

What a records export can and cannot tell you about the past.

An export evidences the practice it is a record of. A missing category column in the only ticket log anyone kept is real evidence that categorisation was not happening. The same missing column says nothing about whether the team had a service strategy.

Populated is a stronger signal than present. A category field that exists and is filled in on nine percent of rows is evidence of a step people skipped, which is a different finding from a field that was never configured.

A workbook with a tab per person is evidence in itself. It is what routing looks like when the system has no field for it, and it is usually the clearest single artefact of the before state.
